Your nervous system does not need a perfect room or a perfectly edited life to exhale. I’m Sara Putney, a body-led prosperity professional and retreat host, and I’m opening this podcast with something simple and real: a chance to arrive where you are.
I share honestly about why slowing down can feel radical in hustle culture. Self care is not a luxury or a reward for finishing your list; it’s a necessity that helps us show up for our families, our communities, and the next generation with more capacity and less resentment.
We can’t pour from an empty cup, and “filling your cup” is not a cute quote when you’re burnt out. It’s a practical approach to stress, energy, boundaries, and building a life that actually supports you.
I also share the direction of the show: I’m done with surface-level positivity and intangible advice.

Welcome And Loose Beginnings
SPEAKER_00Hello, hello, and welcome to the podcast. If we haven't met yet, my name is Sarah Putney. I'm a body-led prosperity professional, retreat host, and aspiring speaker. I have been experimenting with having a podcast for years now. I have started and ended several, and this one really feels like the one that's gonna stick. I am so excited you're here, and I don't really have anything planned for what I'm gonna talk about this first episode. I'm just letting it flow, just going with the creative energy and juices, and I'm so glad that you're here listening.
Orienting And Settling Into Space
SPEAKER_00So I would like to invite you and joining me and coming into your space. What's called orienting to the room, the environment around you, maybe you're outside, just looking around, noticing the colors, noticing the depth of your space and any textures, and arriving right here right now. Maybe you notice sounds, I can hear the wind blowing outside. I can hear my dog walking around. She might start whining in the background. I can hear my daughter playing downstairs. I'm just being right here right now. We're gonna bring a little bit of breathing into this episode to help us ground, to feel our feet on the floor, to feel centered and present in our body.
Guided Breathing To Ground
SPEAKER_00So if you'd like to join me taking a deep inhale in through your nose, and out through your mouth, another deep inhale in through your nose, and out through your mouth, and one more for good measure, letting it be the deepest breath you've taken all day or all week, filling your belly with air. And a deep exhale out through your mouth. Maybe you sigh, maybe you make some sound. Allowing your body and your mind to slow. And again, to just be right here, right now. And allowing life to happen around you. Maybe you're with your family, your children, maybe you're driving, whatever it is, allowing it to just be. Allowing your reality, your environment to be exactly as it is without having expectations, maybe without wanting it to be perfect.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Just noticing, noticing how you're feeling in your body. In the space as you slow down.
Self Care As A Quiet Revolution
SPEAKER_00So easy in the world we live in today to be used to hustle culture, to being on the go and anticipating the future and the next thing. And there is such power when we take time for ourselves. It's really a revolution to indulge in self-care and know that it's really not selfish. It's necessary that we show the next generation that's coming up and future generations what it's like to care for ourselves and care for our families and care for our communities. I think of the cliche saying, you can't pour from an empty cup, right? You have to fill your cup first and allow it to overflow. You have to be so nurturing to yourself and so nourished and resourced in order to give from a full heart and full energy.
Going Deeper Into Life’s Duality
SPEAKER_00And this podcast is going to include that. It's not just going to be these high-level intangible tips of oh, be present, be grateful, lean into the positive feelings, just move your body. I have done so much of that myself and shared so much of that on social media, and I'm over it. I want to go deeper. I'm ready to bring on incredible inspirational podcast guests to have these deep conversations about the duality in life and how you can be experiencing grief and excitement and joy at the same time, how you can feel burnt out and frustrated and broke, and also feel hopeful and contentment with where you're at in your life. I'm just so excited to yeah, have this space, have these conversations, practice using my voice, right?
Unfiltered Podcast Vision And Guests
SPEAKER_00I know that this podcast, as we get started, it's not gonna be perfect. I'm not gonna be editing episodes. I'm really challenging myself to not show up any type of way and just allow myself to be me in a way that is still professional, but it's not filtered. It's not a mask that I'm putting on. And yeah, for the conversations and guests that come in to just be so raw and real and nourishing for you as the listener. I really am excited and I'm looking forward to where this podcast takes us. With the launch of this podcast, I hope to provide you a space that is full of connection and love and peace and so many aspects that are missing in the world today.
